What Should People Know About Medical Malpractice?

One thing I would hope that people who want to file a medical malpractice case would know is that in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, which are two states that we handle those cases in, you need a doctor’s support in order to file a lawsuit.

It’s not enough to say, “Okay, we think this doctor was negligent in his care.” We need to have another doctor in the same specialty sign off and say that the doctor deviated from the standard of care. And when I say deviated from the standard of care, I mean he didn’t do what a normal doctor in that situation should have done. That’s when a medical malpractice case can be filed.
