Over the course of his career, he has tried more than 375 jury cases, handled 600 arbitrations and 135 mediations, and resolved thousands of additional claims. His experience includes preparing, valuing, and trying serious injury matters involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and wrongful death. Earlier in his career, Joel also handled defense-side litigation, including medical malpractice and other negligence matters, giving him added perspective on how complex claims are evaluated, defended, and resolved.
Joel has served as a Judge Pro Temp in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, assisting in the resolution of major jury trials, and has been appointed as an Arbitrator by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia. He has also lectured to fellow attorneys on trial techniques and cross-examination and has been selected by judges to mediate serious injury matters.
