Litigation Paralegal, Personal Injury (Plaintiff)

At Ostroff Godshall Injury and Accident Lawyers, our litigation team represents individuals who have been seriously injured in motor vehicle crashes, work-related incidents, premises liability events, and other negligence-based matters. Our paralegals play a central role in driving personal injury cases forward, from filing through resolution.

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support high-volume plaintiff-side personal injury litigation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for a paralegal who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of litigation responsibilities while working closely with attorneys and clients.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While some flexibility may be available, this role prioritizes regular in-office collaboration and is not intended to be fully remote.

About the Role

The Litigation Paralegal will work directly with litigation attorneys and be responsible for managing key aspects of personal injury cases throughout the litigation lifecycle. This is a litigation-forward role that requires strong organizational skills, comfort managing competing deadlines, and the ability to operate effectively in a high-volume practice.

Paralegals in this role are expected to manage assigned files with a high level of independence and accountability, while collaborating closely with attorneys on case progression, preparation, and trial readiness.

This role also includes supporting training and development across the litigation team. The ideal candidate is comfortable participating in internal trainings, reinforcing litigation best practices, and assisting with onboarding and process consistency to support team efficiency and quality case handling.

This role requires prior experience supporting plaintiff-side personal injury litigation, including discovery, court filings, scheduling, and trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation Support and Case Management

  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare and manage discovery materials, including interrogatories, document requests, and subpoenas, as well as medical records and treatment documentation used to support damages.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation deadlines.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and ensure compliance with court rules and filing deadlines.
  • Manage case files from initial filing through settlement or trial resolution.

Trial Preparation and Courtroom Support

  • Provide hands-on support for arbitration, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Assist with trial exhibits, binders, witness materials, and courtroom logistics.
  • Support attorneys in preparing cases for trial in a litigation-focused environment.

Client Communication

  • Communicate regularly with clients to obtain necessary information and provide case updates.
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Interact with clients with professionalism, empathy, and clarity during difficult circumstances.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • This role involves daily use of the firm’s case management system, including Litify, for documentation, deadlines, and case tracking.
  • Negotiate and resolve medical and other liens as assigned.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data entry within the firm’s case management systems.
  • Perform general litigation support tasks and other duties as needed to support the legal team.

Training and Team Development

  • Participate in ongoing internal trainings related to litigation workflows, file handling standards, and team best practices.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members as needed, including deadlines, discovery processes, and file organization.
  • Support process improvements by helping maintain checklists, templates, and consistent documentation practices across the litigation team.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal, with significant plaintiff personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Pennsylvania litigation practices. Familiarity with New Jersey matters is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Litify is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable participating in training initiatives and supporting onboarding and team development efforts.

Nice to Have

  • Paralegal certificate or professional paralegal certification.
  • Notary public designation.
  • Prior experience supporting trials, arbitrations, or mediations.

Work Environment

This is a litigation-focused role within a hybrid environment that emphasizes in-office collaboration, teamwork, and trial readiness. The ideal candidate values working closely with attorneys and colleagues and is seeking a long-term position within a busy personal injury litigation practice rather than a fully remote role.
